It has a long tradition since its use dates back to the 18th century, being mentioned in the inventories of spas in 1791 and 1853.
In the 19th century, the diffusion of the therapeutic thermalism favored the installation in Mestas of a Spa and a Hostelry, both located in the buildings they currently occupy and in service until 1940.
Recently, the recovery of the hotel function preceded the rehabilitation of the thermal activity that operates today, from two springs in modern facilities with all kinds of services for bathers (swimming pool, changing rooms, toilets…).
THE SPRINGS
They provide hot water (29 – 30 degrees) with a high flow rate that allows filling a large pool inside a natural cave.
The waters are characterized by their low mineral concentration and their sedative and analgesic action.
Its components are indicated for the treatment of neuralgia, rheumatic processes, some dermatitis and chronic respiratory conditions.
The medical recommendation advises the use of the baths for a cycle of nine consecutive days, with a stay in the water of 20 minutes for each session.
